With a new site, encode for Google Analytics. This is a service that provides information on how many people visit a client’s site, how long they stay on a page, how long they stay on the site, what keywords they are using to reach the site and so forth. It also provides information on a
site’s ‘bounce rate’ (when somebody visits a site and leaves immediately, which generally indicates inappropriate keywords or keywords that need tweaking)

In conjunction with the client, decide on the most appropriate keywords

Ensure appropriate keyword distribution throughout the site (titles, metatags, body text, links, site description and so on)

On-going re-evaluation of keywords and their distribution in conjunction with data from Google Analytics, undertake fine-tuning wherever necessary

Every month provide the client with a statistical analysis of all key site activity

Regularly add some new content by way of a news or events update. Fresh content ensures search engine robots re-index the site each time they visit it. This increases the site’s Google rankings. A ‘stale’ website starts to slip down the rankings, resulting in fewer visitors

Assist in promoting the site through external sources/links

Liaise regularly with the client on all of the above

Provide the client with on-going technical help via email support desk
